Can I use the presets on JPEG images?

YES! You absolutely can, however you’ll notice the best results if you initially shoot in RAW format. JPEG files are images that are compressed ‘in-camera’, so you’ll lose information in the image when it comes time to edit. In contrast, RAW files are not compressed and provide you with all the information at the time of capture, allowing for better results when you edit.

I’ve applied a preset to my photo, but the colours are off! What do I do?

Don’t stress! This happens with different cameras, lighting conditions and photography styles. Presets are designed to give a generic and overall tone/look to your image. Firstly, use a preset that gives an overall look to your image that you want. From here, you’ll need to adjust the exposure, white balance and colours according to the way you shot your image. Once you adjust some of the sliders to suit your image, you’ll start to see better results. When you initially apply the preset, the intensity of the preset can be quite strong. Just work your way through sliders and make small adjustments that best coincide with the way you shot your image.
